Position Description

SCR is proud to be family owned and operated for over 60 years. We are currently looking for a Carpenter to join our Refrigeration Installation department. We value our team members and strive to be the Midwest Premier Family-owned and operated mechanical and refrigeration company.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Installation of commercial cabinetry.
  • Installation of flashing and trim work.
  • Installation of walk-in coolers and freezers.
  • Installation of commercial kitchen equipment.
  • Hang cooler doors and drill and set door hardware.
  • Customer based activities requiring an individual possessing traits of decisiveness, initiative, tact, judgement, integrity, dependability, and the ability to communicate in a credible manner.
  • 50% to 80% out of town travel.
  • Working mostly 10-hour shifts, 4 days a week.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Performs other allied duties as assigned by supervisor.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
  • Ability to work with tools, lumber, and materials.
  • Good mathematical and analytical skills to do material estimates.
  • Good oral and reading skills, including the ability to read an apply manufacturers' installation instructions and to clearly communicate with commercial customers, suppliers, and company personnel.
  • Ability to read and comprehend blueprints.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, along with a neat and clean appearance.
  • Valid driver's license and the ability to safely operate a motor vehicle.
  • Medical DOT Health Card.
  • Ability to work efficiently given time pressures, non-standard schedule, varying customer needs and demands.
  • High school diploma.
  • Ability to lift up to 100lbs as necessary and up to 50lbs repetitively.
  • Ability to climb up and down a ladder carrying tools, equipment, and/or parts in a safe manner.
  • Ability to operate an iPad.
