Overview:

Egan Company is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Controls Engineer located in Champlin, MN. In this exciting role within our Process & Manufacturing Controls team, you will be designing, programming, and servicing automated controls systems for a variety of industrial clients.

*** This is a Hybrid role, with the option of working in the office and/or at home ***

Responsibilities:
  • Design and program a variety of industrial process control systems that integrate new and existing hardware and software.

  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair customers' control systems as required.

  • Programming of PLCs, HMIs, Servos, and VFDs.

  • Understand UL 508A control panel construction and design requirements.

  • Support sales by meeting with customers about project opportunities and providing estimates of hardware costs and development time.

Position Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Engineering degree or equivalent design and programming experience.

  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Familiarity with Google Suite - including Gmail, Sheets, Docs, and Drive.

Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 5-7 years' experience in related fields and successful demonstration of key responsibilities as described.

  • Expertise with Rockwell PLC and FactoryTalk HMI platforms is highly preferred.

  • Familiarity with other platforms such as Siemens, Wonderware, and Ignition is beneficial.

  • Ability to work within a dynamic team environment and with a variety of customers.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Working Conditions:
  • Performance of duties will be in the office or jobsites. Deployment to Greater Twin Cities Metro jobsites may be up to 100% of the time. Travel may be required up to 10%.

  • Ability to stand or sit for extended periods of time.
