TYPE OF POSITION:
Hourly
Hours may vary based on program needs; days and/or evenings

REPORTS TO:
Supervisor of Adult Basic Education Programs

SUPERVISION:
None

QUALIFICATIONS:
Required
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Fluency in English language
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
Preferred
  • A minimum of two years relevant work experience (preferably in Adult Basic Education)
  • Strong skillset in student testing, data analysis, measurable skills gains, and student advancement
  • Experience teaching English Language Learners in Adult Education classes
  • Strong ability to establish a culture of learning, respect, and rapport among colleagues and students

POSITION SUMMARY:
Support and assist adult learners, ABE teachers, administrators and other staff in the areas of ESL (English as a Second Language), literacy development, and other academic areas. Duties include tracking attendance and lead classes as needed.

SALARY:
$26.00/hr-$32.00/hr (dependent on qualifications and experience)

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
  • Oversee record-keeping process including intakes, attendance, and pre- and post-testing
  • Complete tutor training and lead small groups under the direction of a licensed teacher
  • Reviewing pre- and post- testing data
  • Assist in recruitment activities
  • Photocopying, creating, and delivering materials as needed
  • Support with external relations as assigned
  • Other duties as assigned
