Overview:

You can collaborate alongside team members with a blend of working in the office, at job sites, and after a couple of months, you could work from home..

Responsibilities:

The responsibilities of the Mechanical Designer II include but are not limited to the following:

  • Preparing mechanical construction drawings using AutoCAD MEP and/or Revit.

  • Complete design tasks within Revit: HVAC, plumbing, and piping systems.

  • Supporting the needs of a diverse customer base in a fast-paced customer service-oriented environment.

  • Collaborate with foremen, business development, estimators, and clients in order to meet client expectations and strict deadlines.

  • Communicate orally and in writing regarding design elements and respond promptly to design changes requests

  • Help in pre-Construction efforts with cost budgeting at conceptual stages and value engineering efforts.

  • All other duties assigned.

Position Requirements:
  • Preferred: Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, Construction Engineering, related degree or working experience; (P.E. not required).

Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience designing and drafting HVAC systems is required.

  • Previous experience with performing HVAC Heating and Cooling load calculations.

  • Previous successful experience designing mechanical systems (HVAC, Plumbing, Piping) in the construction or engineering community. This experience should include an assortment of project types such as:

    • Office Buildings

    • Labs

    • Warehouses

    • Parking Ramps

    • Medical Facilities

    • Distribution Centers

    • Data Centers

  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD, MEP and Revit is required

  • Computer skills with programs such as Word and Excel

  • Working knowledge of mechanical and building codes.

  • Strong organizational skills and ability to partner with all levels of internal and external customers.

  • Team player willing to assist others including business development, estimators, foremen, and project managers as needed.

  • Communicates effectively orally and in writing.
