Your Job

Koch Fertilizer Enid is now seeking an Instrument Reliability Engineer. This role has a primary focus on field instrumentation, valves, and field instrument systems up to and including control system hardware, functional safety, SIS, regulatory process control, and DCS.

This role works a 9/80 schedule. You will travel an average of up to 15%.

What You Will Do

  • Champion Mechanical Integrity for site instrumentation compliance and control's reliability, PM management and execution
  • Maintain and develop site Mechanical Integrity procedures for Instrumentation
  • Drive improvements through plant turnarounds, reliability strategies, and projects
  • Lead and promote Root Cause Failure Analysis and utilize findings to advance strategies around I&E reliability
  • Provide detailed engineering specifications for instrumentation following Recognized and Generally Accepted Good Engineering Practices
  • Participate in Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) and Layers of Protection Analysis (LOPA) for existing, new processes and equipment while facilitating risk assessments as needed
  • Functional Safety Assessments
  • Participate in the (MOC) work process supporting Mechanical Integrity and Process Safety Management (PSM) best practices
  • Participate in PSM/RMP Compliance audits
  • Provide PSM/SIS execution training as required
  • Participate in SIF work scope reviews and audits for unit shutdowns and normal operations
  • Work with capital projects managing site requirements for successful project implementation of all aspects of PSM and Mechanical Integrity


Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in Engineering OR 5+ years of Industrial instrumentation and controls experience or related military experience


What Will Put You Ahead

  • Experience in Instrumentation Design & Project support
  • Functional safety experience working with LOPA, C&E's, SRS, and SIL ratings
  • Instrumentation and Controls design and reliability experience
  • TUV Functional safety certification
  • Experience working with Process Safety regulations (i.e., 29 CFR 1910.119 and 40 CFR 68)
  • ISA certifications CAP, CAPA, CCST
