JOB SUMMARY: As the Corporate Risk and Safety Manager, you’ll be responsible for examining, analyzing, and assessing the risks of Coldspring. You’ll be putting systems, strategies, and procedures into place to manage and minimize these risks personally or through subordinate team members. 

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:
  • Coordinating with internal and external partners to integrate risk management activities, and risk awareness
  • Directing insurance procurement, selecting brokers and carriers, and placing insurance.
  • Facilitating insurance site visits; acting as the liaison between the insurance company and various departments
  • Maintaining risk management records
  • Processing insurance policy payments
  • Appointing third-party claim administrators; managing the internal claim team for all worker's compensation and casualty claims; negotiating claim settlements.
  • Conducting accident/incident investigations to determine root cause, and implementing preventative measures, as appropriate.
  • Directing loss prevention and safety programs
  • Overseeing regulatory compliance filing. 
  • Managing OSHA/MSHA site visits and findings, and company response.
  • Avoiding legal challenges by understanding current and proposed legislation; enforcing regulations; recommending new procedures; and complying with legal requirements.
  • Evaluating contract terms and conditions to identify Coldspring’s exposures
  • Developing new agreements as required by various sales teams; Negotiating contracts with customers, vendors, or others as required.
  • Providing appropriate Insurance Certificates, when required by customers through the terms of the contract.  Acquiring and maintaining any bond requirements for operations, projects, etc. 
  • Working with the sales team and external legal partners to develop solutions for customer issues, project requirements, payment terms, and potential legal issues
  • Supporting and providing guidance to the GMSD location; ensuring collection procedures are followed
  • Assisting in the areas of copyrights, patents, trademarks, and warranty offerings.
  • Working with Accounting and Information Systems at all Coldspring locations to ensure appropriate financial controls are in place to reduce risks of fraud, embezzlement, etc
  • Ensuring compliance with all lease/royalty agreements and administrating all associated payments
  • Monitoring land and building leases to ensure Coldspring has a current lease and all payments are received as agreed.
  • Supporting guest house site managers with any areas of concern. 
 

QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: 
  • Four-year Business Degree or equivalent, with coursework in Finance, Insurance, and Legal Orientation.
     
Experience:
  • 5 + years of increasing responsibility and supervisory experience with working knowledge of Finances, Business Law, Insurance, Risk Management techniques, and Legal Systems.
     
Skills & Knowledge:
  • Must have above-average verbal and written skills.  Must have proficient skills in the use of various computer programs such as Microsoft Word, Access, Excel, and PowerPoint. 
  • Must be detail-orientated; meticulous about keeping records and recording risk data.
  • Must have skills involving data use, statistics, and math to be able to manage data and financial information.
  • This position also requires excellent organizational skills and the ability to work effectively and communicate with employees at all levels of the company.
  • Should be familiar with quality and production-related work instructions and lean manufacturing concepts.
