Adult Basic Ed Teacher
Full Time 215 days/8 hours a day
Schedule: Monday thru Friday, daytime in-person at the Blaine Learning Lab; Tuesday and Thursday evenings virtual

Locations: Blaine Learning Lab, 1201 89th Ave NE, Suite 3100, Blaine, MN 55434

Duties: Provide direct instruction to adult students working on basic literacy and numeracy skills. Content will focus on addressing the needs of adult learners in basic reading skills, building vocabulary, fluency, and basic math. Assistant in goal planning, developing workplace skills, and gaining technology and study skills. Assist with student assessment, return student phone calls/emails, monitor student attendance, complete necessary student record keeping, and provide support for on-site literacy assistants and volunteers as requested. Use cooperative teaching strategies during instruction and integrating technology into learning. Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications: Current MN Teaching License, or ABE license. Effective communication and organizational skills. Ability to be flexible and function well in a busy environment. Ability to work as a team member. Computer skills required. Must be physically working in the building/onsite.

Preferred Qualifications: Experience teaching within an adult basic education program preferred. Experience providing online instruction preferred. Experience working with diverse populations preferred. Reading instruction experience or training preferred. Training and experience in cooperative learning and curriculum development preferred. Experience and comfort with technology (Google Workspace) preferred.

Rate of pay: $32.61/hour, benefit eligible.
