Position Description
SUMMARY
Cleans and refurbishes new, used and customer automobiles. Conforms to dealership and/or manufacturer specifications and time allowances.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
*1. Cleans and refurbishes new, used and customer automobiles.
A. Washes vehicle exterior, cleans interior and exterior windows, wipes down doorjambs, and applies
dressing on tires and tire wells.
B. Applies wax to new deliveries, and wipes or buffs surface, to all necessary vehicles.
C.Vacuums interior of vehicles and trunks to remove loose dirt and debris.
D. Cleans upholstery, rugs, ashtrays, cup holders, center consoles, headliners and other surfaces, using
appropriate cleaning agents, applicators, and cleaning devices and replaces missing or defective small
parts (i.e. screws, license plates).
E. Applies revitalizers & preservation agents to interior vinyl or leather surfaces & treats fabrics with spot-
& stain-resistant chemicals.
F. Cleans engine and engine compartment with steam-cleaning equipment and various cleaning agents.
G. Applies special-purpose cleaners to remove foreign materials which normal cleaning procedures do not
remove, utilizing experience and judgment and following product manufacturer's recommendations.
2. Inspects vehicles for noticeable defects, such as dents, scratches, torn upholstery, molding and poor mechanical operation.
3. Restores appearance of engine area, rugs and upholstery, and painted surfaces. Uses touch-up paint, dyes, and other appropriate materials.
4. Fills vehicle with fuel, if needed.
5. Ensures proper stickers are displayed in the vehicle's window and keys the lot and removes all window
stickers on sold vehicles.
6. Keeps work area and dealership neat and clean and organizes supplies and equipment.
7. Performs snow removal from service vehicles and walkways.
8. Transports vehicles between dealerships, guarantees customer pick-up & delivery; jump start and move
vehicles; obeys all obeys posted speed limits and motorized vehicle regulations and laws.
*9. Operates all tools and equipment in a safe manner; uses proper eye, hand, and body protection when
using products that require protection. Reports any safety issues immediately to management & knows
where & how to use MSDS sheets.
10. Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
1. Six (6) months of related experience preferred.
2. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
3. Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide.
4. Ability to understand and carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
5. Valid Driver's License and acceptable driving record and at least 18 years of age required to drive company or customer vehicles.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
1. Regularly required to stand, walk, talk, hear, reach with hands & arms, use hands to finger, handle, or feel; frequently is required to
stoop, balance, kneel, crouch; & occasionally required to sit & smell.
2. Regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds; & occasionally move more than 100 pounds.
3. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and
ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
1. Regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts & fumes or airborne particles; frequently exposed to toxic
or caustic chemicals & occasionally is exposed to outside weather conditions and risk of electrical shock.
2. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
